This free, browser-based tool shows the 10x15 storage unit size in feet and meters, along with the floor area and volume. It also lists what four storage operators say a 10 × 15 unit holds, then estimates how full the unit would be for the items you enter. A 10 × 15 ft unit has 150 square feet of floor, and at an 8 ft ceiling it has 1,200 cubic feet of space.
Use the page to check whether your furniture, boxes, or appliances will likely fit before you rent. You can start with the default load, or enter your own counts and change the usable stack height and the share of space you want to keep empty. The result is an estimate, so confirm the exact size with the storage operator before you move anything in.

How to use the 10x15 storage unit calculator
Read the size, floor area, and volume at the top of the tool. A 10 × 15 ft unit is 150 sq ft of floor and 1,200 cu ft at an 8 ft ceiling.
Enter a whole-number count for each item: Medium boxes, Large boxes, Queen beds (frame and mattress), King beds (frame and mattress), Dressers, Sofas (3 cushion), Armchairs, Dining tables (4 to 6 seats), Dining chairs, Refrigerators, Washing machines, and Dryers.
Open More options. Set Usable stack height (ft), which defaults to 7 and can go from 1 to 12. A warning appears above 8 ft.
Set Space to leave empty (%). It defaults to 10 percent. Enter 0 to use the whole space.
Read “Your items” for the total cubic feet, “How full it would be” for the share of the usable volume, and “Do they fit?” for the cubic feet to spare or the cubic feet too much.
If the verdict says the items are too much, try fewer items, a smaller empty-space setting or a larger unit. The result gives the cubic feet over the limit, so you can see how far off the load is.
The example buttons (“Just the size”, “2-bedroom load”, and “Full unit”) fill the tool with sample entries. “2-bedroom load” matches the default load, so you can test your own counts against it.
How big is a 10x15 storage unit in square feet?
A 10 × 15 ft storage unit has 150 square feet of floor, found by multiplying 10 by 15. With an 8 ft ceiling, the volume is 1,200 cubic feet. Storage operators describe unit sizes as approximate.
What size is a 10x15 storage unit in meters?
A 10 × 15 ft unit measures about 3.048 × 4.572 m. Its floor area is 13.94 m², and its volume at an 8 ft ceiling is 33.98 m³. These conversions use 1 ft = 0.3048 m.
How many bedrooms fit in a 10x15 storage unit?
Operators give different answers. One guide says a 10 × 15 unit holds about two bedrooms’ worth of furniture, and another says it holds a two-bedroom apartment. A third says it holds roughly a two-bedroom home’s belongings, and a fourth says about four rooms’ worth, often for a move between homes or to clear out a garage.
The default “2-bedroom load” in the tool adds up to 492.5 cubic feet, which is 46.9 percent of the 1,050 cubic feet of usable volume. That load includes 30 medium boxes, 15 large boxes, two queen beds, two dressers, a sofa, an armchair, a dining table with four chairs, and a refrigerator.
Will a car fit in a 10x15 storage unit?
Only a compact car is likely to fit. One operator’s guide calls a 10 × 15 unit the smallest unit worth considering for a car, and only for compact cars. It advises measuring your car’s length and leaving some extra room. Motorcycles, scooters, jet skis, and ATVs are covered in another guide, which lists a 15 ft vehicle space. The car page has a full vehicle fit check.
How does the tool estimate whether items fit?
The tool first finds the usable volume: 150 sq ft multiplied by the stack height. At the default 7 ft, that is 1,050 cubic feet. The “Space to leave empty” setting then reserves a share of that space. At 10 percent, 945 cubic feet count as usable.
Each item has a fixed volume in cubic feet. For example, a medium box is 3 cu ft, a large box is 4.5 cu ft, a queen bed is 65 cu ft, and a refrigerator is 50 cu ft. These are packed cubic feet, which include the gaps around furniture, so they are higher than the measured volume of each item. The tool adds the volumes for your entries and compares the total with the usable volume.
The 10 percent allowance is this page’s own planning figure, not a figure from the sources. Set it to 0 to test the full space.
